Let’s get Personal!
My Core values!
Do you ever wonder why sometimes you can really connect with some people and not so much with others? I believe it’s our core values. Core values determine who we are and become the framework for all the decisions we make. When we meet people with similar values, the connection is that much deeper and so rewarding.
The most important things in my life are my family, living with passion, gaining and then sharing wisdom, having compassion for others and lastly maintaining my independence. Living this way is my definition of Success!
We are all basically the sum total of our experiences and the interpretation of those experiences. I believe that growing up on a farm in northern Alberta gave me a deep appreciation for life, family and the value of hard work. The cows got milked before we ate. There was no running water unless you consider me running to the well in the basement to get a bucket of water – running water. The toilet was outdoors and boy did it get cold out there in the winter!
Here’s the flip side; we had fresh food from our garden, picked our own berries for canning, baked our own bread, ate home-grown organic beef, chickens and pork and drank fresh milk and even real cream if you can believe it! We rode horses and cows, played with the dogs, ran free in the bush, swam in the dug out in the summer and skated on it in the winter. What a great life!
I am married to a wonderful French-Canadian dude (Normand) who is my rock. I have two amazing daughters, two handsome stepsons and between them a total of 9 grandchildren ranging in age from 1-12 years old! We spend a lot of time with our family. They will always come first!
I believe that any business is really just another family. Who else do you spend more time with than the people you work with?
Odds and sods
Normand and I live in Sherwood Park, Alberta and built a pool in the backyard for our kids and grandkids! Most of our summers are spent here. In the winter we also spend time in Phoenix, AZ and Puerto Penasco, Mexico where we have shares in two beautiful condo units!
One of the benefits of what I do and as a result of modern technology, I can work from anywhere and I do!
And then there’s my little shitzu/toy poodle, Cholo, that we adopted in Mexico. He is also a seasoned traveler.
What drives me Crazy?
Chronic complainers! You know those people who complain constantly and have no intention of doing anything about it and always have an excuse. What happens to us may not be pleasant. We can however choose our reaction to what happens to us! That’s how I choose to live my life!
So that’s me! What you see is what you get.
